Hi, Fit Dad here,
I probably shouldn’t have gone out running yesterday as I had a tight spot in my left thigh after Tuesday’s 40 minute fat burning run. So what the hell compelled me to put in a FIFTY minute cross country run yesterday?
It was madness. I was lucky I didn’t aggravate the tight spot but I wasn’t going to miss my run.
The truth is I felt OK after I got started so I just continued.
It wasn’t a great run because it was raining and my feet got soaked in the long grass at a very early stage. I hate having wet feet at the best of times never mind when I’m running!
I had a strange experience running up a very steep hill on this new longer run I’ve been doing. It was hard going and I was struggling to find the motivation to keep going but suddenly I found myself at the top of the hill with no real recollection of having run up it. It was like I’d been in a trance.
50 minutes should probably be the limit of what I’ll glibly call my ‘endurance runs’, at least this early on. 40 minutes is much more comfortable and allows me to run a bit faster.
Possibly a day off of running today? An hour and a half of running in just two days is much more than I usually do in a whole week.
A quick check on the scale this morning showed that I’m on track with the fat loss, so I’m looking forward to Saturday’s weigh in.
Be healthy!
Fit Dad
